These days, I have been having the time of my life by enjoying Taiwanese traditional dishes. I just told my mom that, except not yet having oyster omlette, I had been having those dishes I missed the most when I was in Canada.
Mom said her 7th uncle was drafted to fight in South Pacifics during WWII. Everyone was homesick, but kept to himself. No one cried. One night, he dreamt of eating Spring Roll. He woke up crying aloud. The cry was contagious, and the rests began to cry as well. They all blame him for making them cry.
PS: In Taiwan, Spring Roll is the dish for Tomb Sweeping Festival enjoyed with families. Normally, the day is on April 5th of Solar Canlendar.
