Where Have All the Flowers Gone? Right Here!/花兒不見了?

Where Have All the Flowers Gone? Right Here!/花兒不見了?

Lyrics:Pete Seeger
Music:Pete Seeger

Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the flowers gone?
Gone to young girls, every one!
When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn?

Where have all the young girls gone, long time passing?
Where have all the young girls gone, long time ago?
Where have all the young girls gone?
Gone to young men, every one!
When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn?

Where have all the young men gone, long time passing?
Where have all the young men gone, long time ago?
Where have all the young men gone?
Gone to soldiers, every one!
When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn?

And where have all the soldiers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the soldiers gone, a long time ago?
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Gone to graveyards, every one!
When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn?

And where have all the graveyards gone, long time passing?
Where have all the graveyards gone, long time ago?
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Gone to flowers, every one!
When will they ever learn, oh when will they ever learn?

"Flower Vase - Made from a 57mm Cartrige ("Cat Tut Dan Phao") by soldiers in Unit No 279. They presented this vase to Dong Phuong Hong female guerilla platoon, Ninh Binh Town (Northern Vietnam) after sculpturing on it the names of 32 members in this unit. It was used to hold flowers in their unit's shelter on important occasions such as meetings and ceremonies for admitting new members for Vietnam Communist Party from 1968 to 1975."

When I was in China, once I saw this news reporting a martial art competition in North Korea. That competition includes all the martial arts known by me, and more. The Chinese board game Go is also included. As I think about it, it dawned on me. Who are going to have a fist fight these days? From mafia to coutries, everyone is using modern weapons. From design to application, all that required is the determination of the heart and calculation of the mind. On that note, it becomes reasonable to regard a strategitical mind game as a form of martial art.

The author of Harry Potter, J. K. Rowling, claims the most powerful magic is the power of love. Here I see the transformation of a weapon turned into a vessel to carry flowers for welcoming commrades. Does this count as the power of love?

I wish to pay my tributes to soldiers from both sides, for most of them brave souls loyal to their own countries; to anti-war activists, for they are rightous souls.

God damn those politicians who caused this atrosity.
