I have been craving for Japanese grilled eel for a while. The TV news says, today being the hottest day of the year, it is a Japanese tradition to eat eel. So I have my excuse.
I had no idea where to get my eel. A while ago, Liberty Times recommended a couple of restaurants for eel rice. However, I have never had confidence on Liberty Times' recommendation when it comes to restaurants. However, my luck just got better this time.
According to Liberty Times, this restaurant has not raised their price for over 30 years. NT$100 for a bowl of eel rice is not expensive. However, the material used and the way prepared are both first class. If I want to be nastily picky, I had to aim my shot at the decor or the A/C. Even the free miso soup has got clams in it! The owner must be very proud of his restaurant.
If I must say something bad about their food, then I would not recommend having their eel rice on this special day, because their eel rice is not loaded with a huge pile of eel. There are also other veggies. On this day, people are suppose to get stuffed by eel. However, the eel rice here provides a balanced diet. Hence it is good for everyday consumption. (OS: If you are so staving for the eel, what the heck is stopping you from getting the eel combo rather than eel rice?)
My favourite Taiwanese Oyster Omlette is from the 11th floor of FE21. Their flavour has not changed over the past two decade. However, I stopped feeling being touched by their omlette.
I was touched again last night at this place.
I was at Guanghua Night Market last night. Because of Hebei Dumpling's excellent value, I decided to venture into the small alleys. This Oyster Omlette is NT$20 cheaper than FE21, and NT$5 the average of Guanghua Night Market. Their business was quite slow. I was the only customer. I was a bit concerned about the freshness of the oyster. However, the fist bite had been a very pleasant surprise. It felt like as if the chef has put in a piece of her soul into my omlette.

Helped a friend getting off M$ Windows on his old computer, and installed Linux instead. I also taught him how to use aMule to get "shared" files. He was so happy that he insisted on buying me a lunch. It took us less one minute to wait for the subway. I had oysters that huge.
回程時更誇張,捷運列車跟我們同時走到門口。就等開門而已。
It gets even better on our way back. The train arrived at the gate at the exact same moment as we did.
In order to solve the problem of my friend's aMule filled hard drive, I asked my hardware expert to recommend a NAS solution. However, he did not answer my question. He asked me to go buy an Apple. Apple Store Taiwan marked a server at a very "special", less than half of the original, price that day.
I received a private message Plurk from my idol. She became famous for using credit cards to make a fortune. She told me her e-mail and MSN. She said she receives a lot of private messages on Plurk that she might missed mine.
